Welcome
                    From the Vicar.

The Church of All Saints, West Ham, is one of the hidden treasures of east London.

Deceptively small and homely outside, on entry you are initially surprised by its length, then increasingly impressed by its spaciousness, understated grandeur and potent history.

With a Norman foundation, virtually all subsequent architectural styles are represented in this surprising building.

The Church has a long established royal connection, perhaps most evident in the 16th century, with the Crown as our Patron.

This house of prayer has been the chosen place of worship and of burial for all sorts and conditions of men, some of whose descendants have had fine, poignant or extravagant monuments erected to their perpetual memory.

While the many memorial and burial stones here witness to the faith of  past worshippers, the church is still today host to vibrant and diverse congregations, many of us born in nations unknown to the people of Essex and east London when this church was first built.

There is no doubt that the building and the Church congregations will continue to evolve and adapt to our current needs and changing environment.

The present aim (2007) is to establish that West Ham Church is still as vital a presence in the area today as in its historic past, a church in which local parishioners and occasional visitors are most welcome.

We plan with God’s grace to increase the daily use of the church by different groups in the local community as much as practicable.

After you have explored our  website we hope you will come to explore our church. We are certain that you will be so charmed by the building that you will wish to return to worship with us.
