A black and white photograph circa 1900 showing the view from the north (Portway) side. Note the complete absence of trees in the foreground giving a good view and much light inside the church. The exterior of the north chapel is Tudor. The north turret once allowed access to the rood screen which separated the nave from the chancel.

Below, the view looking west about 1985 after the carpets had been removed. They were causing damp which affected the pillars. Their removal greatly improved both the atmosphere and acoustics of the church. The pews were also later removed c 2001/2.
